About Us

ElectRoad. A company working with the environment, not against it.

ElectRoad was born from local roots in 2018 and is dedicated to providing reliable, fast EV charging and empowering communities, all while helping to drive change towards a sustainable future.

It’s strange how things come together… In 2017 I retrained as an electrician following a penny-drop moment when I saw an electric car gliding past and knew that I wanted to become part of the EV revolution. In 2018 I started installing home chargers, then, as the business grew, expanded into workplace charging and larger scale public infrastructure. Six years on and ElectRoad is now a fully-fledged EV charging network with hundreds of chargers across East Anglia and a growing reputation for reliability and ease of use.

We like to call it EV charging with a conscience

Encouraging and enabling a move away from fossil fuels means that ElectRoad is an inherently sustainable business, but it isn’t just about EV’s. We try our hardest to minimise the environmental impact of what we do – from the (green) electricity we use in our offices to our recycling policies and the vehicles we drive.

Our Mission

At the heart of our mission is Broome Beck Meadow, twenty-five acres of land at the ElectRoad HQ that we’re helping to return to nature through rewilding. This isn’t a vanity project, it’s a symbol of what we stand for. We’re allowing local species to flourish and helping to restore the natural balance that’s been disrupted for too long. Our efforts have been recognised with the land being classified as a private nature reserve by both Suffolk and Norfolk Wildlife Trusts.

We’re proud that our efforts appear to be working and believe that we’ve created a business that works with the environment, not against it. Unlike many of our competitors we are an independent business that has no connection with oil revenues.
